This site was created in response to the overwhelming need to increase understanding around comorbid Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. As a mental health clinician and researcher, I’ve found it troubling how difficult it is to obtain answers about the epistemology of PTSD and ADHD co-occuring, and subsequent treatment options that attend to both. There is a plethora of research and information on trauma and childhood attentional issues. The surplus ends at adults who suffer from the debilitating symptoms of both. I have spent hour weeding through articles and current trends. Spoken with psychiatrists and therapists who can’t explain the why or the how behind the PTSD/ADHD comorbidity. On a journey through the virtual lands of the internet, reading books like The Body Keeps The Score and Delivered From Distraction, I’ve been able to piece together an understanding that is emerging alongside current research and sociocultural trends. My passion for helping others heal inspired the creation of a central resource center for those diagnosed with PTSD and ADHD. This site is dedicated to sharing the information I find with the public. I hope to help others who are searching for answers around their own PTSD and ADHD; and for clinicians seeking information for their clients.
